Cryptocurrency Markets Hit New PR

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization (which is the total value of around ~1000 publicly traded cryptocurrencies and crypto assets) pushed past $160 billion for the first time ever. It's never done that before, so good going crypto.

Now please try to stay there long enough for all my friends and family to dump their coins (I joke).


China's Regulators Consider Suspending All ICOs

According to some reports, regulators in China are discussing a plan to possibly suspend all initial coin offerings (ICOs) within the country

Whether this is FUD (fear, uncertainty or doubt) or not, it looks like it might have had an impact on NEO. During the wee trading hours of the night (or daytime in China), NEO dipped from around ~$38 to ~$28 (a ~27% dip), and is now trading at around ~$34 (a ~27% jump).

Russia Proposes Restricting Bitcoin To Qualified Investors

According to Bitcoin News, The Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev has proposed regulating cryptocurrencies including bitcoin as financial assets or property, to be listed on Moscow’s stock exchange. However, only qualified investors will be permitted to buy and sell them on the exchange.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Issues Warning

More from Bitcoin News, as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a warning about companies making Initial Coin Offering (ICO) claims. It warns of schemes including pump-and-dump and market manipulation as well as points out how companies may use ICOs to boost their stock prices. The warning follows the trading suspension of four companies’ shares by the Commission.
